About the project
At Lello’s we have brought authentic Italian cuisine all the way from Veneto to West Byfleet. Chef Alfonso and his team offer a regional selection of flavours from the North of Italy that is sure to excite the taste buds.
This website project was a fully custom website design and wordpress developement. I was in charge of all of it, I first designed the project in Figma and built it in wordpress using ACF pro and Custom Post Types to be able to give it that custom design feel in wordpress.
For bookings it was using the 3rd party booking system Opentable which for installation was preety straighforward, Except it was limited on the customisation side of it. but the client wasnt to worried about that they just wanted it to be a seemless transition.
The Problem
As the client didn’t want to use any theme’s so we had to go the fully custom route. The other issue was that it was in height of the pandemic so with the menu we need it to be designed well for mobiles. As the restaurant will be using the website for customer’s to view the menu.
The menu would be tricky as they had alot of offerings and it had to easily accessible for mobile.
The Solution
So with the design I used it with CSS grid and CSS Flexbox to be able to easily come up with unique layouts for the homepage and menu pages.
So I split it into to two Our Drinks & Our Food and the categoriesed even further which will be accesible by tabs.
to be able to give the user the best possible way to be able to see the menu and be ablt to refrence and order or just to see what was on the menu.
